Jimmy McLemore was born in Montgomery, Alabama. He is a 1979 magna cum laude graduate of the School of Commerce and Business at the University of Alabama, where he was a member of Omicron Delta Kappa, Jasons Senior Honorary, Sigma Alpha Epsilon Social Fraternity, and Capstone Men Public Relations Group. As a Distinguished Military Graduate from the University's Army ROTC program, Jimmy was Commissioned as an Armor Officer and served in the Alabama Army National Guard until the conclusion of Desert Storm, separating as a captain.
Jimmy was admitted to the Alabama bar in 1982, after receiving his J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law. In 1983, following a clerkship with the Honorable Judge R. E. Varner, Chief Judge for the Middle District of Alabama, Jimmy joined Capell & Howard. Jimmy's practice has concentrated in commercial litigation with an emphasis in healthcare and government regulated professions and industries. He appears in licensing and other proceedings before regulartory boards concerning healthcare facilities, professionals, environmental concerns, and in utility proceedings before the Public Service Commission. He was an ALJ for the Environmental Management Commission, and presently represents clients before that agency.
Jimmy is a member of the Montgomery County Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the Defense Research Institute, Inc. He is admitted to practice in all Federal Courts in the State of Alabama, the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.
