Caty Richardson obtained her bachelor's degree in Journalism, summa cum laude, from Auburn University in 2001 and her juris doctorate, magna cum laude, from the University of Alabama School of Law in 2004. Caty has practiced with the firm since her admittance to the Bar in 2004. Caty was a Senior Lead Editor of The Journal of the Legal Profession and the author of A "Rest in Peace," Guide of Estate Planning Ethics. She is a member of the American Bar Association Real Property and Probate Division, the Montgomery County Bar Association, the Montgomery Estate Planning Council, the Junior League of Birmingham, and Trinity United Methodist Church, where she is currently a member of the Stewardship Committee and a Sunday school teacher. She is currently serving as a YWCA Women at the Courthouse (WATCH) Program volunteer through the Junior League where she monitors the court system's handling of domestic abuse cases. Caty served on the Compass Bank Young Executive Board from 2005-2007 and the Montgomery Estate Planning Council Board from 2006-2007. Caty practices primarily in the fields of estate and tax planning, estate and trust administration, and estate and trust litigation. She also handles other probate court matters including guardianships, conservatorships, and adoptions.
