Raley L. Wiggins has represented clients in a broad range of elder law, probate, estate planning, and general civil litigation matters. He has represented individual clients as well as corporations, hospitals, and long-term care providers, among others. Raley has particular experience in the areas of Medicaid planning and eligibility, difficult hospital discharges, and legal capacity issues.

A significant portion of Raley’s practice involves advising clients on overcoming barriers to Medicaid long-term care eligibility. This includes advising and supporting individuals and healthcare facilities through the application process, as well as pursuing Medicaid appeals through the fair hearing process and state court appeals.

Raley writes and regularly speaks on various elder law and related topics. He is an active member and past chair of the Elder Law Section of the Alabama State Bar and is also a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys.

Raley has also assisted hundreds of clients in preparing their estate plans and has extensive experience drafting wills, revocable trusts, irrevocable trusts, special needs trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and living wills.
