Allen Sheehan specializes in complex litigation matters for individual and business clients in both state and federal courts. He has a diverse range of practice areas including civil rights, construction, custody/divorce, probate, labor and employment, wills and trusts, LLC disputes and tax litigation. Allen has experience representing state agencies, small businesses and corporate clients. He is also able to defend criminal matters in municipal and district courts including traffic violations, DUI and city ordinance violations.
Allen joined Capell & Howard in 2007 and began managing the Auburn Division in 2021 to help promote the future growth of the firm in Lee County. As a litigator, Allen handles complex civil and criminal matters for individuals and corporate clients in federal, state and municipal courts throughout Alabama. Allen also represents clients in administrative law cases, probate matters and domestic relations. Having trained in mediation and domestic mediation at the Alabama Center for Dispute Resolution, Allen is registered on the Alabama State Court Mediator Roster.
Allen is a 2007 graduate of Cumberland School of Law and a 2004 graduate of Rhodes College. He is an active member in both Montgomery and Lee County professional communities. Allen is a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church and serves as the attorney for Easterseals Alabama. He is married to Elizabeth Utley of Greenville, Alabama, and they have two sons, Ford and Webb, and a daughter, Vivian. Allen enjoys coaching little league, college baseball and craft beer.
