CDC Offers Helpful Resources for Employers
May 17, 2020
By: Barbara Wells
I am the first to confess that prior to Covid-19, I had not spent much time exploring the Center for Disease Control’s website. Sure, I would check it sometimes when I was asked to present on workplace health and safety. I never saw it as a significant employer resource.
I cannot say if I was wrong historically, but I can say the CDC has really stepped up its resources for employers. You can find the latest information about symptoms. You can get information on whether to seek testing. CDC provides guidance on cleaning and disinfecting workplaces. There is information about homemade cloth face coverings and social distancing. If you really want to dive into data, you can find information on cases, hospitalization rates, and hospital capacity. The specific guidance for employers is excellent. The CDC has continued to roll out new content. Employers considering reopening can now consult decision tool flow charts. Any business doing business during this pandemic should bookmark this page and consult it regularly for guidance. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/community/organizations/businesses-employers.html Knowledge is power.
